Unanswered Questions – a poem

If I could wind back the clock and

Say the words differently, would it change things?

Would you stay and spend a lazy, hazy day

As it rained outside the window in bed with me?

If I had split my heart open even more than I did,

Would you have run back to me, or further away?

If I had told you that because it’s us, there’s

No need to be afraid, what difference would it have made?

I wish I had the answers, or else you did.
